Non-profit Organizations
Each year the Minocqua Area Chamber of Commerce uses the help of dedicated community volunteers to assist in the numerous events coordinated by the Chamber. Without the valuable assistance of these volunteers, our success would be so much more difficult to attain. The following local organizations are lending their time and their hands to the Chamber for the 2012 Only Fools Run at Midnight 5K Run/Walk and will each receive a portion of the event’s proceeds:
Girls on the Run of the Northwoods

Girls on the Run is a life-changing, non-profit prevention program for girls who are 8-11 years old. Our mission is “to educate and prepare girls for a life time of self-respect and healthy living”. Our goal is to EMPOWER all girls to…

Girls on the Run of the Northwoods is an independent council of Girls on the Run International which has 160 locations across the United States and Canada.

Lake Tomahawk Lions Club
Lions
are an international network of 1.3 million men and women in 205
countries and geographic areas who work together to answer the needs
that challenge communities around the world. The Lake Tomahawk Lions
are a diverse Club, and currently have over 50 members. Lions will use
their time and talents to make an impact locally and around the world.

Lakeland Union High School Wrestling Team
The
Lakeland Wrestling Team is committed to pursuing excellence in the
sport of wrestling as well as life. By stressing the standards of

Lakeland Community/Senior Center in Woodruff
The Lakeland Community/Senior Center in Woodruff welcomes seniors from the surrounding areas. We add enjoyment to senior life through companionship, new friends, good food, activities and services to others. We are a non-profit organization.

Lakeland DECA
DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.The guiding principles explain how we fulfill our mission by addressing what we do and the outcomes we expect. DECA enhances the preparation for college and careers by providing co-curricular programs that integrate into classroom instruction, applying learning in the context of business, connecting to business and the community and promoting competition.

Boy Scouts of America, Troop 564, Lakeland Area, American Legion Charter Organization
Boys 6th grade thru Seniors in High School work in leadership skills and rank advancement while doing community service project. Camping is a favorite activity as well as striving for the highest honor of Eagle Scout. BSA thrives on community involvement and character of scout.

Thunderbird Track & Field Club
The Thunderbird Track and Field Club is open to everyone who has an interest in track, field events and cross country running, but is primarily aimed at getting area youth involved. They compete as a team at state and national events and occasionally host meets at Lakeland Union High School.
