Finishing Fools

The air was cold and a little damp. The morning’s puddles had started to freeze and the sky was a starless jet black. It was not a night to run alone.

At midnight on April 2nd no one had to run alone in Minocqua. Over 1000 people donned tennis shoes, glow necklaces and costumes and ran like fools through the streets and trails of Minocqua on a course that was a fool’s 5K (a bit over regulation).

In a little over an hour most of the fools were accounted for enjoying sandwiches and cookies back at Lakeland Union High School as the Awards Ceremony began.
